The advent of the G,I. Bill 80 years ago had the unanticipated effect of creating the totally bogus mindset of “you can’t be successful unless you get a college degree”. which produced a generation of feminized young men who should have been happier as electricians, plumbers, or HVAC technicians. Or young women pushed beyond their aptitude to get stuck in some dead-end STEM job.
