Sonny Menendez

His amateur interview of the Rolilng Stones scooped every reporter in the US,

From the San Antonio Express-News:

Growing up on San Antonio’s East Side, Sonny Melendrez spent lots of time listening to his transistor radio in what he calls his “dream machine,” which was actually a treehouse his father built in the parking lot behind the barbershop where he worked — and where the family lived.

“This was the late 1950s, and I was, like, 11 years old up in my treehouse listening to music and dreaming about three things,” Melendrez said.

One, that he’d someday be on the radio himself. Two, that he’d someday work for Walt Disney. And three, that he’d someday use his gift for mimicry to do cartoon voice-overs.
